Google Inc. has launched a call for proposals on line aimed at adolescents from all over the world to develop scientific and technological projects. In collaboration with LEGO, Virgin Galactic (the branch of space travel from Virgin) and the magazines National Geographic and Scientific American, the company organizes Google Science Fair.
the 20 finalists, accompanied by one of their parents or legal guardians, will travel to Google headquarters in Mountain View, California, to present their projects before the jury and compete for one of the awards listed below.
the winner of the contest will receive the “Grand Prix”, which consists of a scholarship of $50,000, with the aim of expanding the education of the winner. If the prize winner is a computer, the value of the grant will be divided equally among its members.
there are other prizes including a trip to the Galapagos Islands, a visit to the headquarters of LEGO in Denmark and the opportunity to meet the new Virgin Galactic spacecraft at the station Mojave Air & Spaceport in California.
